Give me the chance to decorate my own room and all of a sudden I turn into a mushy, pinkie, girly girl. (Also please reference my hot pink bedroom, circa middle school, another room I was given free reign over.)
There are two extra bedrooms in our new house, so of course being totally selfish, we each get our own room to do whatever we want with them. I decided mine is going to be a combo guest room, office, and craft space. I secretly really wanted the guest room because I like bedding, and also want my girlfriends to come visit.
I'm going for sort of an 'exotic glam'- just made that up, but lets just go with it. I'm thinking something like mixed textures, brass, mirrors, etc. As you can tell, shes really, really, really, not done, to say the least. But I wanted to show some 'in progress' photos while I'm working.
You may remember my thrift store tables, they found a home as bedside tables. Still working on what will permanently grace the top.
Underneath is a really great woven basket a solider brought back from his travels abroad. I bought it from him for $7 at the flea market. The basket houses some extra blankets for my guests.
I love this blanket! How awesome is a salmon colored native blanket? It has a little Indian guy in the center and cool stripes. Scored for $3.99 at the thrift store.
At the foot of the bed is my desk and a fun little wicker chair. Pretty blank over here, we need some greenery to warm it up.
Multi color fringy rug is a great thick wool, perfect for toes under the desk. It was a flea market find for $10.
A cute little side table my dad made me holds holds odds and ends waiting to be put to use. Drift wood, sticks from our yard, twine, an eye craft, a cute Polaroid of my dad with his first car, jack rabbit antlers- all sorts of curiosities.
Up next? Hanging art and a mirror, along with curtains and other necessities.
