Thrift Break.

Wednesday, October 19, 2011

I took a mini break from thrifting.  Ok, I lied a little, I didn't take a break I just wasn't really finding any thing post-worthy.  I was also mostly picking up things to spruce up my fall wardrobe, wide legged trousers anyone?  Here's a few things I picked up on my latest thrifting adventure.
Local Pottery: This piece of giant pottery is actually from a nearby city.  A nearby city- which we happened to make a weekend trip to this summer.  When I saw this creamy, textured, piece I was intrigued, when I found out where it was from I knew it was mine.  White and ivory pottery is something that fits seamlessly around the house, with a plant stuck in it of course. $3.99
See? Seamless with the (droopy) coffee plant replanted in it.  The coffee plant started getting sad looking when it was outgrowing the old pot- hopefully she'll do better with more room.
Wicker-y Tissue Box Holder: I know, I know- how much more wicker can she get?  I can't help myself around this cute, texture-y material!  I passed up a similar one a while ago, and regretted it after wards.  When this one popped up for a mere 69 cents, how could I say no?
Our bathroom lacks texture so I thought it would go good there.  The hanging wicker planter I keep suggesting we hang in here, has consistently gotten vetoed.  Try, try, and try again!
Books: Martha Stewart is the man, or should I say wo-man.  After seeing this book, How to Decorate, everywhere I was happy to stumble upon it for $1.99.  Also, picked up these indoor gardening books, Container Gardening and Favorite Houseplants.  As you might know, I'm a humble gardener, and super avid houseplant fan.  Seeing as some of my plants are a little less than stellar, I thought I should read up.  $0.49 & $0.29
