2015 Garden.

2015's first update.
I started the garden all from seed, getting a little bit of a late start (although we're further along than it looks since these photos are from May 28).  Because of the lateness there was no time for starting tomatoes from seed so a friend offered some of his extra tomato starts- so nice.  The extra tomatoes went in pots since the beds always get full so fast.  We're trying to prevent the over-crowding we had last year.
The big bed holds Kentucky wonder beans (on the new cattle fence trellis), bush beans, chard, spinach, romaine, little gem lettuce, basil, and tomatoes. Last year the little gem lettuce was very productive and it looks to be going that way again this year.
In the bed on the left we have three varieties of kale, a zucchini, a tomato, wax beans (they will have a trellis soon), and a cucumber (which will also trellis). The bed on the right side has zucchini, onions, tomato, and carrots. The interesting thing about the tomatoes are we don't know what varieties they are. When getting the plants from our friend he said some of the labels washed off, so we'll just have to see what comes up.

I also started a herb bed where I had potatoes last year. I'm trying all sorts of new herbs, lovage, chives, cat grass, and cumin, along with old favorites like cilantro, parsley, basil, etc. In this bed I also saved a bit of space for zinnias, poppies, and another flower I can't quite remember off the top of my head. Currently there are only small sprouts so I didn't think it was worth showing just yet.

We've just come off an awfully cold week, 50s at night, so things are all a little behind but I can't wait to see what this summer's bounty brings.
