A Couple of Fleas

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

This past weekend we traveled to an amazing flea market a couple of hours away. On a good day, there could be up to as many as 2,500 dealers covering an entire fair ground. You have to wear your walking shoes and prepare yourself for a whole day of shopping.

This guy seemed to have bought out an entire school. He had a lot of desks, chairs, cubbies, and lockers.

I was lusting over a few of the work benches. I would love to have one of these as a computer desk with a tall, industrial, swivel stool to match.

I always wanted a cubbie unit. The more I looked at them I couldn't figure out what to put in the holes. Too small for books and most other things. Any ideas?

I am looking for a small shelf to put some of my camera collection on and I thought this would be perfect, but with an $80 price tag I had to slowly turn around and walk away. Hey, you can't always get a good deal.

I always find it amazing that you can buy firearms at these things with no questions asked.

What a sweet chandelier! Someone put a lot of time into wiring this up. Wish I had a cabin to decorate...

Too bad every day items aren't packaged like they used to be.

I found this daybed cool but creepy. In this state, you may see it in one of the Adams Family movies. If you painted the metal white and switched out the cushions it could be pretty cute for a kids room.

Buying and fixing up an old home has been a dream of ours forever. I can't wait to come back when we do and buy up all these little trinkets for little hints of character.

I felt like I was Harrison Ford stepping into the Temple of Doom when I walked up to this booth. Shrunken heads are certainly not "in" right now. Right?

Alyssa spotted this old rusty bed frame that she just HAD to have. For only ten bucks it's a pretty good deal but I was more worried about fitting it in my tiny car!

I wasn't planning on bringing anything large home but a couple bungee cords was all it took to make it back in one piece.

We were literally walking to the car and spotted a couple of bar stools. We haven't been able to put our bar to use yet since it is slightly taller than your average bar and finding the perfect set of stools has been extremely hard. These were the perfect height and were a lot more unique then all the other bar stools we have seen on the market. At only $50 for the set, it was a no brainer.
