Project Paradise

Saturday, January 21, 2012

After last nights ice storm we were hesitant to venture out into the world today but we were glad we did. We went to go check out that store I was telling you about that specializes in repurposed building materials. The company is run by a non-profit that takes a crew of people and salvages materials from demolition sites. This is what you see when you pull up.

It is a project paradise! There were sinks, windows, door, bricks, granite, and lumber, all priced VERY low. Yea, a lot of the items need some love but that's half the fun, plus you can save a boatload of money rather than buying new at Home Depot. There were a couple pieces of BEAUTIFUL marble in some of the stacks.

We spotted these awesome white globes hidden behind a shelf. For some reason someone had wrapped them up in two basketball hoop nets, hmm? I think they will work great as lamps or a hanging light arrangement! For a small donation the globes were ours and off we went.

I think we will start to see more stores like this as time goes on because people are starting to realize how much trash is bogging down the earth. We cannot wait to renovate our own home some day and this place would be a huge resource to us.
