| Where we spent all of 2013, our old house. |
2014 Goals:
To grow more food- make garden better than ever, try new veggies and don't be afraid to lose some along the way, grow enough to not rely on the farmers market as much.
Bike ride at least once a week- the bike path is within riding distance, make use of it regularly.
Kayak at least three times; invite parents to kayak- also within bike riding distance, make use of it.
Bust out the projects- make our house as energy efficient as possible this year, solar panels, solar heaters (plans are already drawn up), rain water to fill the pool and use exclusively in the garden, expand the compost bins, and more.
Create a worm bin- another form of composting with quicker turn over time- tackle this project all by myself.
Consume less in general- possibly do certain months where you consume nothing but food, and only food from the grocery store to curb general consuming.
Let my family know how much I appreciate them- something I do daily, but don't always voice out loud.
Never set foot on a scale- plus or minus 3 pounds is always what I see, so its really not telling me anything but makes me extremely happy or sad, in 2014 I won't do it all year.

As always I'll be starting 2014 with no sweets for the whole month of January- something I'm actually looking forward to after way too many ginger snaps.
I've had canning on the list for the past couple of years but since I really made it a big priority last year I think it can be retired. I didn't realize how much I had canned until we moved and I had cases of apple sauce, pear butter, tomatoes, tomato sauce, jelly etc. Looking forward to doing even more with our garden spoils next year.
