We celebrated
our first year of marriage by spending the weekend at an all-veg bed and
breakfast in eastern Kentucky. It sits on a 300 acre organic farm
surrounded by rolling hills.
We stayed in a cabin which is just a short walk from the main house, where breakfast and dinner are served.
The cabin had a covered deck and the sound of rain hitting the metal roof at night was spectacular.
We couldn't stop talking about the cabins' kitchen; small and cozy but will all the necessities. Fresh flowers from the flower garden add a lively touch.
The main house was gorgeous. The owner, Barbara Napier, designed the home herself and it was built by local laborers using only reclaimed lumber. She is also an award-winning vegetarian chef.
We wined and dined on the screened in porch, our favorite part of the whole property.
It was so nice to get out of the city and spend some time together. Staying at Snug Hollow reaffirmed our dream of someday building our own house in the country. If you'd like some more info on the B&B check out Barb's website @ www.snughollow.com
